CONTESTANT REQUIREMENTS

 

In order to compete in the The Original - Milwaukee Rumble® 2009 contest you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Live within a 40 mile radius of the event (contact promoter if outside of area)
  • Weigh at least 160 lbs. (does not apply to women).
  • No previous professional boxing or kickboxing experience.
  • Not have more than 5 sanctioned amateur wins in the last 5 years.

CONTEST RULES

 

The Original - Milwaukee Rumble® 2009 contest is a two day P.A.K.A. sanctioned, elimination kickboxing tournament. Each bout consists of three 60 second rounds with a 45 second rest between each round. Contestants shall be divided into three weight classes:

  1. Men: Heavy Weight - 185 lbs. to 400 lbs.
  2. Men: Light Weight - 160 lbs. to 184 lbs.
  3. Men: Light Weight - 149 lbs. to 159 lbs.
  4. Women: Open Weight Class.
  • No biting.
  • No wrestling.
  • Attempt to make 4 kicks per round.
  • 3 knockdown rule and standing 8 counts are in effect.

NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE EVENT

CORNER-MEN: Experienced "corner-men"will be provided by the Milwaukee Rumble 2008. Personal "corner-men" will not be allowed.

PREFIGHT PHYSICAL: For your saftey, each contestant shall be given a prefight physical by medical staff on Friday night. The prefight physical must be passed before you are allowed to compete in the event.

REFEREE INSTRUCTIONS: A referee will be present in the ring. All instructions given by the referee must be followed. Failure to follow the referee's instruction could result in a deduction or disqualification from the event.

SCORING: Judges will score on a 10 point must system. A kick is scored the same as a punch.

LEGAL TARGET AREAS: The face and side of the head is a legal target. The front of the body from the waistline up to the the top of the chest area is a legal target.

ILLEGAL TARGET AREAS: The back of the head, neck or throat area are illegal target areas. Also, any part of the body below the belt line, the spine, and kidney area are illegal target areas.

LEGAL PUNCHING TECHNIQUES: All punches thrown must be thrown to make contact with the padded knuckle area of the glove. All boxing punches are allowed. No ridge hand techniques are allowed. Spinning backfist techniques are not allowed.

LEGAL KICKING TECHNIQUES: All kicks thrown must be thrown to make contact above the waistline, and below the neck area. No kicks will be thrown to the head area. No sweeping techniques are allowed. No kicks to the back area. No spinning kicks allowed. All kicks thrown must be thrown to make contact with the padded instep of the foot, or the sole of the foot. You will be disqualified if any of these are done intentionally.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT: Fighter must supply his/her own mouthpiece. Fighter may supply his own groin protection, providing it is approved by the P.A.K.A. representative in attendance at the contest. Promoter to supply for each contestant: headgear(Ringside), 16 oz. boxing gloves (Ringside), foot protection (Ringside "C" Boots), and large groin/kidney protector.

MEDICAL STAFF: Medical Staff will be present for each bout and may be used to determine a contestants ability to compete in the event of an injury.

ENTRY FEES: Each contestant may pay the entry fee in one of the following forms:

  1. Contestant may pay $50.00 (no sponsor).
  2. Contest may obtain a sponsor. The sponsor will pay the entry fee and obtain promotional advertising and bonus benfits which are determined by the sponsorship program the sponsor chooses. See sponsor options below.

Sponsor Options:

  1. $100.00 Sponsorship Level One.The sponsor shall be announced with a brief description of the sponsor's business each time the contestant enters the ring.The sponsor shall be listed as a sponsor in the event program. The sponsored contestant will be allowed to wear a T-shirt with the sponsor's business logo during the event. 2 General Admission Tickets for each night of the event will be provided to the sponsor.
  2. $275.00 Sponsorship Level Two. The sponsor is entitled to all options listed under the $100.00 Sponsorship Level One option with the following upgrades: The sponsor will receive a 1/4 page advertisement in the event program. The sponsor shall be announced over the PA each night of the event. Tickets received will be upgraded to 4 Ringside Tickets for each night of the event.
  3. $400 Sponsorship Level Three. The sponsor is entitled to all options listed under the $100 Sponsorship Level One option with the following upgrades: The sponsor will receive a 1/2 page advertisement in the event program. The sponsor shall be announced over the PA Multiple times each night of the event. The sponsor will receive 2 Ringside Tickets for each night of the event and 4 General Admission Tickets for eachnight of the event.
